Marian Greenberg Zonis, 95, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2011, in Louisville Kentucky.Born Sept. 25, 1915 in New Castle, PA, Marian was the eldest daughter of the late Samuel and Frida Wolfe.She was an active bridge-master and life time member of Hadassah, National Council of Jewish Women, and Temple Hadar Israel Synagogue. She was the winner of numerous spelling bee's right up to the last three months of her life. Of all her accomplishments Marian was most proud of her family.Marian is survived by her sons, Philip M. (Susan) and Alan S. (Valerie) Greenberg; her grandchildren, David (Michelle), Jeffery (Tanya) and Peter (Edy) Greenberg, Leslie (Dr. Michael) Berkowitz, Evan, Adam (Deborah) and Lana Greenberg and Gina Greenberg (Paul) Moeller; Her great-grandchildren, Andres, Elliot, Ava Pearl, Gregory, Amanda, Ryan, Jake, Jack, Kate and Anna Greenberg and Zach, Noah and Aaron Berkowitz. She is also survived by two sisters, Annabell Massave and Phyllis Regenstreich; and numerous beloved nephews and nieces. A special debt of gratitude to her dear friends, Betty Smith, Hope Armstrong, and the Sisters.She was preceded in death by her husbands Joseph Greenberg in 1968 and Albert Zonis in 1980.There are no calling hours.A graveside service will be held on Tuesday. Sept. 6, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Tifereth Israel Cemetery with the Rabbi Martin Shorr officiating. Arrangements are being handled by the R. Cunningham F.H. and Crematory 2429 Wilmington rd. New Castle, PA
