Marietta McQuiston Jones, 84, of New Castle, Pa., passed away at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh on the morning of Sept. 22. She was born March 22, 1928, in Ellwood City, Pa., to Della and Herman McQuiston. She married John C. Jones also of New Castle on Sept. 3, 1949. John and Marietta settled in the village of Princeton in Slippery Rock, Pa., where they had five children; Jerry, Judy, Dale, Calvin and Wade. John passed in 1963 at the age of 38. With five children ranging in age from 2-13 at the time of her husband's death, Marietta kept her young family together and reared them on the family farm. She is survived by her five children, Jerry and his wife, Sue, Dale and his wife, Martha, Calvin and his wife, Robin, all of New Castle, Judy and her husband, Chuck Franzetta of Murrells Inlet, S.C., and Wade and his wife, Cindi of Frederick, Md. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.Marietta enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Throughout her life, she faithfully attended Neshannock Presbyterian Church every Sunday with her family. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at 10:00 a.m., followed by burial at Mt. Hermon Cemetery in Slippery Rock, Pa. A celebration of life will follow at Neshannock Presbyterian Church located at 154 Fairground Road, New Castle, PA 16101.
