Marilyn C. Comstock, 80, of Hunters Woods Blvd., passed away the morning of Jan. 12, 2010, in her home.Born May 8, 1929, she was the daughter of Leal B. and Ruth Dufford Calvin.She married Earl H. Comstock on Aug. 11, 1951. He survives.Marilyn was a second grade teacher with the Neshannock Township School District.She was a New Castle High School graduate and earned her bachelor's degree in 1951 from Westminster College. She also received her master's degree from Westminster.Marilyn enjoyed reading and walking.She was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and the Jameson Guild.Marilyn was a member of Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher.In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Van Mancuso of Minnesota; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Sally Comstock of North Carolina; four grandchildren, Mark Mancuso, Lindsey Mancuso, Bryan Blair and Darcy Comstock; and two great grandchildren; Madison Blair and Benjamin Blair.She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Calvin.Visitation is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan.15, 2010, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.A service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at the funeral home. The Rev. Chris Weichman of Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church will officiate.Burial will be on Oak Park Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church, 220 Clen-Moore Blvd., New Castle 16105; or to Jameson Hospice of Lawrence County, 1211 Wilmington Ave., New Castle 16105.Online condolences may be posted below.
