Marilyn Ruth Williams, 81, formerly of E. Fairmont Avenue, passed away the night of June 4, 2018 at Haven Convalescent Home. Born June 3, 1937 in New Castle, she was the daughter of Daniel Thomas Williams, Jr. and Agnes Matilda Webster Williams. A 1955 graduate of New Castle High School, Marilyn received her Bachelors Degree from Geneva College in 1959. She was employed as a secondary/elementary school teacher in Cochranton, Pa and with Union Schools. She was a member of the Poetry Society and Rainbows, and a lifelong member of the former First Christian Church where she attended the Fleming Sunday school class. She is survived by her two sisters, Mrs. William (Betty J.) Ford and Mrs. James (Carol A.) Sudziak, both of New Castle, two nieces; Linda A. Stobel and Laura Ford Bishop, three nephews; J. Eric Sudziak, William Ford, Thomas Ford, and nine great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00-8:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with the Rev. Rick Vogeley officiating.
