Marion H. Piper, 89, of Grove City, fomerly of New Castle, passed away the evening of Aug. 31, 2011 at Trinity Living Center, Grove City.Born April 3, 1922, she was the daughter of Frank and Gretchen Barnes Hay.She married David G. "Bud" Piper, Jr. on Aug. 9, 1941. He passed away Nov. 3, 1996.Marion was a graduate of Shenango High School. She worked for 10 years as a secretary and bookkeeper for the Shenango School District.She was a member of the Shenango Garden Club.A member of First Baptist Church, she was the church librarian for 37 years and she served on the Board of Deacons.Marion is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Robert Glenn of Mercer; a son and daughter-in-law, David G. III and Joyce Piper of New Castle; four sisters, Virginia Fraser of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Dorothy McAinsch of Panama City, FL, Louise Lach of Brownburg, IN and Mildred Fordyce of Macomb, IL; one brother, Robert Hay of Indianapolis, IN; seven grandchildren, Robert Glenn, Matthew Piper, Kenneth Piper, Debra Park, Christy Peters, Kyle Piper and Stephen Piper; and eight great grandchildren.In addition to her parents; and husband; she was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Roth.Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, from 1-4 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Rd.A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, at the funeral home. The Rev. Mike Wells will officiate.Burial will be at Castle View Gardens.
