Marjorie R. Johns, 82, of 222 Cecil Avenue, passed away the morning of January 7, 2015 at her residence. Born February 10, 1932 in New Castle, she was a daughter of Albert and Mary Stickle Marks. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Ronald L. Johns, whom she married July 20, 1948. Marjorie attended Shenango High School. She was a self employed wall paperer, painter, and interior designer for 40 years. A member of the Ladies Card Club, she also enjoyed playing Bingo, and frequenting casino's. She liked football and basketball, especially New Castle High School Basketball. Marjorie's family was of utmost importance to her, always attending whatever sporting events her grandchildren were involved in, and especially enjoying family vacations to the beach. She attended the former Second United Presbyterian Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Betty Ekabutr of Richmond, VA; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Janet Johns of New Castle; one brother, George Marks of Orangevale, CA; two sisters, Kate Fleeger of West Sunbury, PA, and Mildred Lombardo of Shelbyville, NC; three grandchildren, Gary Johns, Robert Johns, and Sutessa Ukrop; and three great-grandchildren, Hunter Ukrop, Lexie Ukrop, and Ameliah Johns. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Albert, Oliver, William and Richard Marks; and two sisters, Josephine Fleeger and Mary Virginia Presnar. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation Friday at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. John Yergan officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
