Marjorie L. McConnell, 83, of 39 5th Street, Bessemer, PA, passed away the morning of February 4, 2012 at Jameson Hospital.Born October 9, 1928 in Youngstown, Ohio, she was a daughter of Merle and Daisy McGarr Evans. She married Donald S. McConnell on June 21, 1957. He preceded her in death on August 2 2006.She was formerly employed as a waitress at the Elks Club in New Castle.Marjorie enjoyed bowling, bingo and traveling. She was a member of the New Castle Moose Club. She attended Edinburg Presbyterian Church.She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Book of Bessemer, Penny Fitzgerald of St. Louis, MO, and Vicki Reed of Mercer; a daughter-in-law, Angie McConnell of New Castle; three sons, Mark and Vickie McConnell of Hillsville, Raymond McConnell of Bessemer, and David Zambino of Melbourne, FL; two stepsons, Gaylord and Jackie McConnell of Edinburg and Dennis and Debbie McConnell of New Castle; one brother, Jim McKay of Greenville; one sister, Joanne Ringer of Mercer; 16 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Mark A. McConnell, II; one sister, Alice Skinner; and one stepson, Paul McConnell.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wimington Road, New Castle.A funeral service will take place on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev.
