Marjorie Jones Nord, 91, of Neshannock Township, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side the afternoon of February 6, 2021 at Jameson Care Center. Born September 21, 1929 in Ellwood City, PA, she was the daughter of David J. Jones, Jr. and Margaret (Liebendorfer) Jones. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Roland Nord, M.D. whom she married on August 2, 1952. After her 1947 graduation from Lincoln High School where she was the class Valedictorian, she furthered her education at Westminster College, receiving her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She enjoyed her trips to New York to attend the theater there. She was a board member of the Hoyt Center and of the YMCA where she had been the last YWCA Board President. For over 40 years she was active with her local dinner club that met once a month to share a meal in different homes. In her spare time, she enjoyed working crossword puzzles in the New York Times and cooking wonderful meals. Marjorie loved traveling to Florida, Alaska, the Caribbean, western Europe and the U.K. She was proud of her Welsh heritage, was an active member of the Lawrence County St. David's Society and made numerous trips to Wales, the homeland of her grandfather. Marjorie was a 62-year member of Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church where she served as a past trustee. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Kristine Fronius of Neshannock Township, PA: three sons, D. Scott Nord, M.D. and his wife, Phyllis Parcella, M.D. of Shillington, PA, Richard G. Nord, M.D. and his wife Donna Nord of Canfield, Ohio, Kevin J. The family extends their gratitude to the staff of UPMC Jameson Care Center for their excellent care of Marjorie. Also, special appreciation to Jackie Bush for her continued visitation as a friend from Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church, as well as Gail Keffer who faithfully delivered remembrances and devotionals from the caring friends of Clen-Moore.
