Marjorie R. Reese, 98, formerly of Old State Road, passed away the afternoon of March 13, 2018 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. Born November 3, 1919 in New Castle, she was the daughter of Joseph and Minnie Mutter Ferrell. She was preceded in death on April 5, 1984 by her loving husband of 40 years, Jack E. Reese. Marjorie was a homemaker and also was a clerk with Miller Drug. She enjoyed spending time quilting, golfing, painting, horseback riding and bowling. She is survived by a daughter, Diane Straw of New Castle and her companion, Joe McAdams; 3 grandchildren, Robin Straw, Christopher (Jessica) Straw, and Robert Straw; and 5 great-grandchildren, Jason, Madelyn, Olivia, Emma and Arabella. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Stanley Ferrell. Visitation will be on Friday from 6:00-8:00 pm at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation on Friday at 8:00 at the funeral home.
