Martha Harris Carlson, 86, of New Wilmington, formerly of Neshannock Township passed away January 13, 2014 at the Shenango Presbyterian Senior Center. Born in Kingston, PA on February 23, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Harry G. and Bertha A. Harris. On June 27, 1947, she married Robert Carlson. He survives. Mrs. Carlson was a lifelong homemaker who enjoyed reading, cooking and knitting. She graduated from Wyoming Seminary and attended Westminster College where she studied English and Philosophy. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. In addition to Robert, her husband of 66 years, she is survived by three children; Robert (Margaret) Carlson of Cheswick, PA, Stuart (Susan) Carlson of Dallas, TX, and Carol (David) Vari of Felton, DE; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Mrs. Carlson was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Doris Bagby. Funeral arrangements are being conducted by the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. Following cremation, the family will hold a private memorial service.
