Obituary

Martha A. Robinson, age 85, of Haven Convalescent Home, passed away the morning of September 19, 2015 at Jameson Hospital. Born August 23, 1930 in New Castle, she was a daughter of Robert and Martha Alice Moore Robinson. She was a 1949 graduate of New Castle High School. Prior to her employment as the switchboard operator and receptionist for the V.A. Hospital in Butler, she was the Assistant Chief Operator for the F.B.I. Martha enjoyed several interests such as art, flower arranging and cooking. She most loved painting china and was an award winning oil painter. She was a member of the Society of Former F.B.I. Women. An active member of Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church, she was a deacon and Sunday school teacher. She is survived by one brother, Robert S. (Mary Jo) Robinson of New Castle; three sisters, Mary (James) Dawson of Grafton, Ohio, Edith Robinson of Elyria, Ohio, and Sarah J. "Sally" Sewell of Elyria, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Marjorie A. Robinson. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will take place on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Chris Weichman officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Opening Doors Building Fund at Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church, 220 Clen-Moore Blvd., New Castle, PA 16105.
