Martha J. Evanoski Serwatka, of Allison Park, Pa., formerly of New Castle, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 8th, 2012, at the Concordia at Rebecca Residence in Allison Park.Born April 17th, 1914 in Pittsburgh, Pa., Martha was the daughter of the late Michael and Gertrude Lewandowski Evanoski. She married Stephen P. Serwatka on September 5th, 1933, who preceded her in death on Sept. 5th, 1992.Martha attended from New Castle High School and worked for 23 years as a supervisor and buyer for the Bargain Center.She was an avid bridge and 500 card player, a member of St. Camillus Church and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.Survivors include one daughter Karen and her husband Mark Krull of Allison Park; two brothers Walter Evanoski of Youngstown, Oh., Joseph Evanoski of New Castle; and two sisters Emily Dolak of Florida and Clara Gittings of Morristown, NJ.; as well as two grandchildren Emily and Katherine Krull of Pittsburgh.In addition to her parents and husband, Martha was preceded in death by four brothers, Dr. Leo, Raymond, Edward and William Evanoski; and one sister, Bernice Sylak.Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 10th, 2012, from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, 2429 Wilmington Rd., New Castle, Pa.A procession will leave the funeral home on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Camillus Church at 10:30 a.m. with The Rev. Father Thomas Lewandowski officiating. Entombment will follow in Castleview Mausoleum.
