Mary Alice Bradley, 83, of New Castle, passed away at Jameson Hospital on May 31, 2014 after a short illness. She was born on February 19, 1931, in Enon Valley, to the late William A. and Mary K. McGinnis Scott. Mary was a 1949 graduate of Mt. Jackson High School. She married William E. Bradley in 1954. He preceded her in passing in 1986. Mrs. Bradley was a dedicated employee of Jameson Hospital until she retired in 1999. She had many hobbies which included, gardening, for which she had a very "green thumb", watching and caring for her dog, Micheal, her cat, Annie and strays in the neighborhood, decorating for every holiday, celebrating her Irish heritage, singing sweet Adelines and working for the Committee for Women's Voting. Mary was a faithful Presbyterian. Mrs. Bradley is survived by her three daughters and son-in-law, Mary Christine and Jeffery Smith, Colleen Ann Burns and Charmayne Elizabeth Bradley; six grandchildren, Jeffery Smith and his wife Amy, Nikki Dean, William Burns, Angela Bradley, Shane Griffen and his wife, Brandi, Alexandrea Bradley; 4 great grandchildren, Jacob D. Smith, Lochlan Dean, Neve Dean, Shane Griffen; serveral nieces & nephews and great nieces and nephews and her "Adopted" children, Lois and Jim Tinstman, Sandy Galonio and Ed Ramsey.In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in passing by her two sisters, Lovella Hunt and Belle Foster; two brothers, John A. Scott and William L. Scott and three infant grandchildren.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, from 4-8 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., New Castle. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2104, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Jason Hickman of the Presbyterian Church of West Middlesex will officiate. Burial will take place in Graceland Cemetery.
