Mary Lou Brown, 81, of New Castle, (formerly of New Bedford) passed away the evening of November 27, 2017 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. Born September 22, 1936 in Franklin Pa, she was the daughter of John D. and Anna Houston Glenn. She was preceded in death on September 28, 1996 by her husband of 40 years, Donald A. Brown, whom she married June 22, 1956. Mary Lou was employed with the Visiting Nurses of Jameson Hospital for 22 years, until her retirement in 1996. During her retirement, Mary Lou enjoyed crafts, crocheting and visiting with her children. She was a member of First Alliance Church. She is survived by her two daughters, Beverly Ann Brown of Dayton, Ohio and Donna Welsh of Volant, PA; two sons, Robert W. Brown of New Castle and William Dale Brown of Dallas, TX; two sisters, Margaret Bean of Franklin, PA and Susane Ealy of Mercer; 5 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. There will one hour of visitation from 10:30-11:30 a.m., with a memorial service immediately following at 11:30 a.m., on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at the First Alliance Church, 111 Mission Meade Dr., New Castle, PA 16105 with the Rev. Philip Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 1100 Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
