Obituary

Mary Lou Fullwood, 93, formerly of Audley Avenue, passed away the afternoon of September 19, 2015 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. Born June 18, 1922 in New Castle, she was a daughter of Charles O. and Catherine M. Snyder Hall. She was preceded in death on October 28, 2010 by her husband of 65 years, Bertrem P. Fullwood, whom she married on April 20, 1945. A graduate of New Castle High School, Mary Lou was employed in earlier years at G.C. Murphy Company and Shenango Pottery. Because of her love for children, Mary Lou babysat in her home for over 40 years. She also enjoyed flower gardening and crocheting. A member of Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church, Mary Lou served as a deacon, a choir member, and served over 50 years in the church nursery. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Cassy Fullwood of New Castle; a daughter, Marilyn Fullwood of Columbus, Ohio; 5 grandchildren, Lorraine (Steve) Hyland, Jennifer (Jason) Flores, Brian Simpson, Bobby Fullwood, and Kaitlyn Fullwood; and 5 great-grandchildren, Brittany Hyland, Brianna Hyland, Ryan Hyland, Jamilyn Flores and Juliana Flores. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Liversage and one brother, Charles W. Hall. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 and Thursday from 10:00-11:00 at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will take place on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Velis Vais officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Online condolences may be offered at www.cunninghamfh.com
