Mary Jane (Pritchard) George, 92, passed away at her home in New Castle on September 8, 2020 after an extended illness. She was born in New Castle on November 10, 1927 to Benjamin and Helen (Swan) Prichard. Mary was an avid gardener, poet, and angler. She was a founding member of Faith Country Chapel church in New Castle and was active as a Sunday school teacher and youth leader for over 30 years. Mary Jane is survived by sons, Timothy D. George of New Castle and Jeffrey A. George of South Padre Island, TX; two grandchildren, Eliot Z. George (Catherine Costanzo) and Sarah Z. George (Nicholas Hansen) all of Seattle; and one sister, Pearl Phillips. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 72 years, David W. George, who died July 21, 2017; grandson, Noah Z. George; and a sister, Dorothy Hughes. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 13, from 2:00-5:00 at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. Visitors are asked to adhere to CDC guidelines regarding wearing face masks and practicing social distancing. There will also be a one-hour visitation Monday from 12:00-1:00 prior to the 1:00 funeral service at Faith Country Chapel, 3818 Old Butler Road, New Castle. The Rev.
