Mary Jane Henry, 89, of New Castle, passed away the morning of November 2, 2018 at Avalon Nursing Center. Born February 24, 1929 in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of Wesley and Flora (Fleming) Hudson. Mary Jane was preceded in death on December 24, 1984 by her first husband, Jack Albert Handte. She subsequently married Clarence Henry who passed away February 8, 1998. Prior to her employment as a secretary at Jameson Memorial Hospital, she also worked as a secretary at the World Trade Center. Mary Jane was a published poet and also enjoyed playing Bingo. She was a member of Shenango Presbyterian Church where she taught Vacation Bible School. She is survived by a daughter, Iris Boone of Oregon; one son, Jack (Micki) Handte of New Castle; two grandchildren, Sarah Witham and Patrick Witham; and one great-grandson, William Witham. In addition to her parents and both husbands, she was preceded in death by one sister, Vivian Freeman and a son-in-law, Michael Boone. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens. Arrangements have been entrusted to the R.
