Former New Castle resident, Mary Ann Klee, of Virginia Beach, VA passed away on July 20, 2012 at her home in Virginia Beach after an extended illness.She was born in Kittanning, PA to the late David E. Jones and Inez C. Jones. She was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church, New Castle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Evan Jones; a sister, Elizabeth Jones; and a grandson, Justin Thatcher.Surviving her is her husband, William L. Klee Jr. of 59 years; a son and daughter in-law, William L. Klee III and his wife Shirley of Southport, NC; a daughter and son in-law, Susan E. Thatcher and husband Paul of Virginia Beach, Va; four grandchildren; Nicole Klee of Virginia Beach, VA, Heidi Gregory and husband Jason of Buford, GA Courtney Thatcher of Virginia Beach, VA, Tyler Klee of Wilmington, NC, and three great-grandchildren. Mary Ann was a teller at Citizen's Bank and later Mellon Bank of Pittsburgh. She was also a branch manager for Mellon Bank in New Castle prior to her retirement in 1987. She was a member of the Junior Guild of Jameson Hospital and a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 105. After her retirement, she enjoyed traveling and playing golf. She was a past member of Oak Tree Country Club and a member of the New Castle Country Club until her move to Virginia Beach this past spring. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, July 25, 2012, from 11:00 a.m. til noon at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will be held at noon on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, conducted by The Rev. Andrew Jillson of Northminster Presbyterian Church, New Castle.
