Mary Margaret "Peg" Safranic, age 77, of Edinburg, PA, passed away the evening of March 9, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Hospital – Boardman.

Born April 20, 1945, in Altoona, PA, she was the daughter of Joseph W. and Della A. (McGinnis) Socie.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Anthony W. Safranic, Sr.

Peg enjoyed being an entrepreneur, crafter, restaurateur and caterer until her retirement. She was of the protestant faith.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Glendalynn (John) Ryder of Mercer, PA and Brenda McGlothin of Tampa, FL; two sons, Anthony W. Safranic, Jr. of Charlotte, NC and Richard M. (April) Safranic of New Middletown, OH; two brothers, George Socie and William Socie; a sister, Jane Peek; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Arlene Motts, Thelma (Skeetz) Peek and Louise Drew; and two brothers, Teddy Socie and Joe Socie.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 12, from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 2:00 at the funeral home.
