Mary Elizabeth 'Marybeth' Pisor, age 86, of New Castle, PA, passed away the afternoon of May 1, 2025, at the Avalon Care Center.

Born July 9, 1938, in New Castle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Gerald Robert and Velda Harriett (Moon) Thompson.

She married her beloved husband, George B. Pisor, Jr., on Dec. 14, 1956. He preceded her in death on June 26, 2005.

Marybeth was a graduate of Eastbrook High School. She was a homemaker who always put her family first. She treasured the times she was able to cook for her family. Marybeth was a lifelong member of the New Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church where she was active in a variety of church groups.

Survivors include her children, Thomas A. (Debbie) Pisor of Greenville, SC, Cristie J. (Jeff) Hurta of Edinboro, PA, Amy J. (Tim) Phelps of Belle Vernon, PA, and Sarah B. (Fred) Ceccarelli of New Castle, PA; one sister, Edith Wilson of New Castle, PA; thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

In addition to her parents and husband, Marybeth was preceded in death by her son, George S. Pisor and her sister, Vivienne Michaels.

Visitation will be held on Wed. May 7th from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will take place, at the funeral home, on Thurs. May 8th at 11:00 AM with Rev. Don Hurray of New Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Burial will be alongside her husband at Oak Park Cemetery.
