Mary Jo Roberts of New Castle, Pa passed away peacefully on June 23, 2022. Mary Jo was born on August 22, 1930 to Clifford R. Roberts and Dorothy Lockley Roberts in New Castle PA. She was the oldest of five children and was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Clifford E. Roberts and her sister Sherry Roberts Bair. She is survived by her brother William E, Roberts and his wife Marilyn of Atlanta, Georgia and her brother Dave Roberts and his wife Cathy Cavanaugh of Butler, PA. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces. Mary Jo attended Mount Jackson High School and was a hard working, dedicated and loyal employee at Jameson Memorial Hospital in the Dietary Department for forty-three years. She enjoyed and appreciated the kindness and friendship of both co-workers and supervisors. She was also a member of the Clen-Moore United Presbyterian Church and previously participated in Prime Timers. She also attended Challenges for a number of years. Mary Jo enjoyed puzzles and playing games with her fellow residents at Clen Moore Place. She was also an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves, much to the joy of her brother Bill and the dismay of her brother Dave. She will be remembered by family and friends as a person who did her absolute best with the abilities she had and the challenges she faced. She will be deeply missed. The family would like to express their thanks for the care and kindness the staff at Clen-Moore Place showed Mary Jo. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 27, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation, at 4:00 PM, with Rev. Cynthia Klingemier, officiating.
