Mary Elizabeth Stoner, age 98, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of August 30, 2024, at Shenango on the Green in New Wilmington, PA.

Born August 2, 1926, in New Castle, PA, she was the daughter of Ira and Gladys (Kennedy) Brown.

She was preceded in death on December 28, 2019, by her beloved husband, Raymond C. Stoner.

After high school, Mary attended Jameson School of Nursing and became a private nurse for Dr. Wilson for several years.

Among her varied interests, she enjoyed traveling, camping, crocheting and sewing. She loved coffee, and always had a cup in her hand and a pot brewing. Mary was a member of Oak Grove Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Carol (John) Rush of New Castle; three sons, Ralph Stoner, Dale (Sally) Stoner, and Roy (Laurie) Stoner, all of New Castle; seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation. A private graveside service will be held for the family at Rose Point Cemetery with Pastor Judy Wilson officiating.
