Mary Josephine Tarzia, 94 of New Castle passed away the evening of January 1, 2024, at her daughters' residence.

Born on January 10, 1929, in New Castle, she was the daughter of Guy and Amelia (Charlendina) Tarzia.

She was of Christian faith.

Mary was employed as a server at various restaurants and as a housekeeper at several hotels. She enjoyed puzzles, baking, crossword puzzles, collecting recipes and playing with her cats. What gave her the most joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she was affectionately known as "Grandma Boogie".

Mary is survived by her daughters, Karen Tanner-Drotleff of New Castle, and Kelli (Chris) Chambers of Hummelstown, PA; three grandchildren, Emily Drotleff of New Castle, Jon (Brittany) Chambers of Enola, PA, Natalie (Sean) Chambers-Ferry of Camp Hill, PA; and one great-grandchild, Luca.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Domenick and Michael Tarzia; and her two sisters, Theresa Tarzia and Angeline Tanner.

A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, January 10th at Noon at Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
