Mary E. Young, age 101, of New Castle passed away on May 23, 2025, at Shenango on the Green in New Wilmington. Born on August 20, 1923, in Slippery Rock Township, she was the daughter of John S. and Helen L. (White) Biddle.

She was preceded in death on February 3, 2000, by her husband of 55 years, Robert R. Young Sr., whom she married on October 5, 1944.

Mary graduated from Princeton High School in 1939 and from New Castle Business College in 1941. She was employed as a Business Office Secretary for 22 years by the Laurel School District and she retired in 1985. Mary was a member of Oak Grove Presbyterian Church in Portersville. She enjoyed bowling in a league for many years, arranging flowers and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by two sons, Robert (Laura) Young and William (Linda) Young, and three daughters, Betty Berkebile, Barbara (Bradley) Garrett and Joyce Adamczyk; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, George Biddle, Clair Biddle and Paul Biddle.

Visitation will be from 12:30-2:30pm on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 2429 Wilmington Rd. New Castle, PA 16105.

A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation at 2:30 at the funeral home with Rev. Joel Garrett officiating.

Burial will be at Mt. Hermon Cemetery alongside her husband.
