May Annabelle Carnahan Griffin, 93, formerly of Mulberry Street, passed away the morning of September 19, 2012 at Edison Manor.Born October 28, 1918, in Ragersville, Ohio, she was a daughter of Ella Slater Lahmers and was raised by her grandmother, Fannie Slater.She married Haskel T. Griffin, Sr. on August 30, 1941. He preceded her in death on November 25, 2009.May was a homemaker and a member of New Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church.Among her many interests, she enjoyed shopping, planting flowers, playing cards, and sewing. She loved to socialize with others and was an animal lover. In earlier years, she enjoyed helping with the Youth Club at Second Presbyterian Church.She is survived by two sons, Keith H. Griffin and fiance' Virginia Doll of Canfield, OH, and Haskel T. Jr. and his wife Mary Jane Griffin of New Castle; one brother, Earl Lahmers of Bolivar, Ohio; four grandchildren, Jewel Griffin, April and Shaun Vasquez, Mark and April Griffin and Shawn and Angie Griffin; and five great-grandchildren, Alexander and Brandon Ramirez, McKenna, Kyrie and Averie Griffin.In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.Visitation will be held on Friday, September 21, 2012 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Chris Curtis.
