Maynard Lee Cook, 74, of New Castle, passed away the morning of November 22, 2021, at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born May 28, 1947, in New Castle, he was the son of Wesley G. and Lena (DelBene) Cook who preceded him in death. Mr. Cook was employed with the former Shenango China doing janitorial and maintenance work. He served with the Union Township Volunteer Fire Department for 53 years and attended Wesley United Methodist Church until its closing. He is survived by a daughter, Leeann Cook of Mount Laurel, NJ; one stepdaughter, Penny Feeley of New Castle; one brother, Vaughn Cook of New Castle; one grandson, Trent Truax; one step-grandson, Brian Feeley; and several nieces and nephews, Vaughn Cook, Jr., Stacey Warsing and Alisha Benson. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 2, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 8:00 pm. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. The Rev. Jordan Rimmer will officiate. Burial will be in Parkside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Maynard's daughter, Leeann Cook, to help defray funeral expenses.
