Melvin Douglas Arritt, Jr., 52, of Bessemer, passed away the morning of October 9, 2024, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Doug was born in San Rafael, CA on July 17, 1972, to the late Melvin Douglas Arritt, Sr. and Dianne M. (Maynard) Reynolds.

Doug earned his Associate degree in Logistics from the University of Nevada, Reno. He worked in life insurance sales with American Income Life. He was an avid online gamer and enjoyed time spent with his online gaming community. Some of his favorite games were Civilization, Axis and Allies and Elder Scrolls. He also enjoyed board games, bowling, and golfing. He was of Christian faith.

Along with his mother, he is survived by two sons, Nicholas and Eluerra Arritt and Kenneth Arritt both of Reno, NV; one brother, Parker Arritt of Edinburg; one sister, Tina and Mike Prestopine of New Castle, two grandchildren, one niece, two nephews, two great-nephews, one great-niece; and Aunt Betty and Uncle Dave Rodgers.

Doug was preceded in death by his father and stepfather, Michael R. Reynolds.

A service will be held on October 26th at 12:00 PM at Calvary Independent Church, 424 E Moody Ave, New Castle.

Burial will be at Oak Park Cemetery.
