Merle Newton, 89, of the Haven Convalescent Home, formerly of McGrath Manor, passed away the morning of April 2, 2012 at the Haven Convalescent Home.Born August 23, 1922 in Youngstown, Ohio, she was a daughter of Frank H. and Eleanor Smith Hinchcliffe.She was a homemaker and enjoyed playing cards with her grandchildren.Merle attended First Assembly of God.She is survived by one daughter, Jackie (Robert) Cameron of New Castle; three sons, Derry R. Newton and Wesley A. (Susan) Newton of New Castle, and Rick Newton of Butler; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Dwight Newton; a sister, Shirley Naples; two brothers, Jack and George Hinchcliffe; and a grandson, Ronnie Cameron.There will be no visitation.A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at, 3:00 PM at Faith Country Chapel, Old Butler Road, New Castle. Rev. Stephen Miller will officiate.Arrangements are by the R.
