Obituary

Miami E. Wells, 90, of New Castle, went to be with the Lord the evening of January 20,2014 at her residence. Miami was born on September 13, 1923 near Wayne, West Virginia, to the late William Taylor and Rebecca Hazlett Booth. She married Rollin Rufus Wells on August 28, 1944. She retired from Owens-Illinois in Huntington, WVa as a selector in the glass manufacturing business. Mrs. Wells was a very active member of the Grace Gospel Church in Huntington. She and her husband joined the church family at First Baptist Church once they moved to New Castle. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael F. and Susan Wells of New Castle; a son-in-law, George (Skip) Hipple of Fort Oglethorpe, GA; one brother, Noah Booth of Mobile, Alabama; two granddaughters and their husbands, Jenny and Mark Bolinger and Samantha and Mike Blundo; two grandsons and their wives, Brian and Julie Hipple and Stephen and Canada Hipple; and five great-grandchildren, Cameron Bolinger, Sophia Blundo and Maddie Lynn Blundo, Avery Brown and Hannah Hipple. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in passing by two daughters, Marie A. Wells and Patricia J. Hipple. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Michael Wells will officiate. Memorial contributions can be sent to the First Baptist Church Foundation for the Future, 984 W. Maitland Lane, New Castle, PA 16105. Arrangements are by the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.
