Michael D. Boswak, 71, of 209 Kathleen Drive, New Castle, passed away the afternoon of March 21, 2011 in Allegheny General Hospital.Born December 22, 1939 in Indiana, PA, he was a son of Michael Boswak and Margaret Belle Wilt Boswak Zimmerman. He married Eleanor L. Martin on September 5, 1958. She survives at their residence in New Castle.He was a graduate of New Castle High School and attended Bible college in Cleveland, Tenn.He served in the U.S. Army for a two year period, and then was a member of the Air Force for four years during the Vietnam War. He then served another four years with the National Guard.Mr. Boswak was a minister at the Church of God of Prophecy. He was employed as a diesel truck mechanic for Praxair in Deer Park, Texas for 15 years, retiring in 1999.He enjoyed fishing and hunting and had his pilot's license. He liked to travel, especially to see his family. He attended Unity Baptist Church in Harlansburg.In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Loretta A. and Raymond Gould of Houston, TX; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael D. and Leslie A. Boswak of Hooksett, NH and Matthew D. Boswak of New Castle; four sisters, Loretta Wethen of Love, MD, Dr. Patty Campbell of Leesburg, FL, Bonnie Kaulens of Parrish, FL and Diane Hilderbrand of Butler, PA; one step brother, Roy Zimmerman of Butler, PA; and six grandchildren, Nathanael Gould, Eliza Gould, Jennifer Riel, Justine Lamontagne, Spencer Boswak, and Aystin Boswak.He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Bo Boswak, and one sister, Cathy Minto.Visitation will be held on Friday, March 25, 2011, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, PAA funeral service will be held Friday, March 26, 2011, immediately following the visitation at 1:30 at the funeral home. The Rev. Gerald Caskey will officiate.Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
