Michael D. Banko, III, 60, of Neshannock Township, passed away the afternoon of March 30, 2016 at his residence.
Born on December 17, 1955, he was a son of the late Michael D. Banko, Jr. and Regina Owoc Banko. She survives.
He is survived at home by his wife, Linda Carkitto Banko. They were married on November 4, 1989.
Mr. Banko was a graduate of Shenango High School and of Geneva College with a bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management. He was employed at First Energy as a Radiation Coordinator for the past 35 years.
Among his favorite activities were spending time with his family and any outdoor activity, such as hunting and hiking. He also enjoyed fantasy football. He was involved in the Boy Scouts, was an Eagle Scout and an Assistant Scout Master. He attended Philmont National Jamboree.
He was a member of St. Camillus Church where he served as an usher and for the past two years participated in the" Make Us A Believer" Play. He was a member of the Polish Falcons as well.
Along with his wife and mother, he is survived by one son, David M. Banko of Pittsburgh; two step daughters, Andrea Durst and Kiley (Daniel) Coulter both of Pittsburgh; two brothers, Steven J. Banko of New Castle and Jeffrey (Alyssa) A. Banko of Los Angeles, California; two sisters, Alicia J. (Jim) Hall of Delmont, PA and Lori A. Banko of New Castle; eight nieces and nephews; one great niece; and one great nephew.
Preceding him in death is his father.
Visitation will be from 2-6 Sunday at R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Monday for St. Camillus Church, where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Father Michael Peck will officiate.
Burial will be in Madonna Cemetery.
