Mildred "Millie" E. Cunningham, 85, of New Castle, passed away the night of July 28, 2013 at Rhodes Estates. Born December 15, 1927 in New Castle, she was a daughter of William and Elizabeth Merkel Crane. Mildred is survived by her loving husband, Wallace Leroy Cunningham, whom she married April 12, 1954. A lifelong member of Third Presbyterian Church, Millie was a devoted wife and mother and loved spending time with her husband of 59 years and her family. She had a special place in her heart for the very young and cross-stitched numerous baby blankets. Other hobbies include fishing, reading, music, and dancing. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons and their wives, David and Donna Cunningham, and John and Robin Cunningham, all of Toms River, NJ, and Philip and Sheree Cunningham of New Wilmington, PA; a daughter, Pauline Cunningham of New Castle; nine grandchildren, Sonya LaRocque and Heather Cunningham of Yuba City, CA, Jessica, Rachel and David Cunningham of Toms River, NJ, Joseph and Kristen Cunningham of Lower Burrell, PA, and Marcee and Mark Zysk of Erie, PA; and five great-grandchildren, Noah Cunningham of Yuba City, CA, Hunter, Hero and Legend LaRocque of Yuba City, CA, and Lucy Lee Cunningham of Lower Burrell, PA. In addition to her parents, Millie was preceded in death by one brother, Philip Crane. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, from 5:00-9:00 p.m. and Thursday, August 1,2013, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home and will be officiated by Rev. Michael Spicuzza. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Third Presbyterian Church, 1315 East Washington Street, New Castle, PA 16101.
