Mildred B. Hoover, 93, formerly of Ashberry Lane, New Castle, passed away November 12, 2012 at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center in Jupiter, Florida. Born November 1, 1919, in Pittsburgh, PA, she was a daughter of Manley and Dora Taylor Broaddus. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond B. McClure, Sr. on October 3, 1948. She subsequently married James L. Hoover who passed away on May 3, 1995. Mildred was employed for over 27 years with the New Castle Area School System as a medical secretary, retiring in July, 1984. She served as a former Deacon and member of the of the Lookout Sunday school class at First Christian Church. She also was a member of the Lawrence Co. School Retirees and the PA National Association of School Retirees. Mildred is survived by ten grandchildren, Terri Guerra, Kristy Burns, Tracie Galvin, Katie Watkins, Dora Watts, Rebecca Ruffley, Melissa McClure, Raymond McClure, III, Daniel McClure and Steven McClure; and seventeen great grandchildren. In addition to her two husbands and her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Raymond B. McClure, Jr. and one sister, Elizabeth Ford. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, from 10-11 a.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Castle View Gardens.
