Mildred R. Owens, 71, of Greenville passed away the morning of May 18, 2012 at UPMC Horizon in Greenville.Born July 31, 1940 in New Castle, she was the daughter of Clark and Ruth Shaw Thompson. She married Darrell E. Hilyard Oct. 18, 1958, then subsequently married Frank Owens July 10, 1982. Frank passed away April 18, 1984. Mildred was a graduate of New Castle High School. She was a certified nurse's assistant and retired caretaker. She also managed Pert Survey Research in New Castle and was an Avon representative. Mildred enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, bingo and bird watching.Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Hilyard and Brenda Reynolds, both of Greenville; a son, Corey Hilyard of Greenville; a brother, Wayne Thompson; a sister, Jeanie Farrell of Sandy Lake; and three grandchildren, Joseph Spaulding, Kaleb Owens and Noah Reynolds.Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; a son, Timothy Hilyard; and three sisters.There are no calling hours.A graveside service will be held, Monday, May 21, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Mount Hermon Cemetery, 936 Mt.
