Mildred "Dolly" Roberts, 88, of Shenango Township, passed away the afternoon of October 27, 2019 at Avalon Place in New Castle. Born April 4, 1931 in New Castle, she was the daughter of James D. and Mildred (Brown) Miles. Dolly was preceded in death on July 19, 2016 by her beloved husband of 68 years, Eugene D. "Bus" Roberts, whom she married June 21, 1948. A graduate of New Castle High School, she attended Wilmar Beauty School and was a self-employed beautician. Dolly also worked alongside her husband in their plumbing business, R & H Plumbing which they owned and operated until their retirement in 2004. In addition to traveling and bowling, Dolly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Faith Country Chapel. She is survived by her daughter, Janice (Robert) Matis; two sons, Ken (Sol) Roberts and Donald Roberts; 3 granddaughters and 7 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Thomas D. Roberts; three sisters ,Ruth Abernathy, Genevieve Miles and Charlotte Hogue; two brothers, Raymond and James Robert Miles. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 30, from 10:00-12:00 at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation Wednesday at 12:00 with the Rev. Stephen Miller of Faith Country Chapel officiating. Burial will be alongside her husband at Graceland Cemetery.
