Obituary

Mildred Tirre Verzilli, 87, of 219 Winter Road, New Castle, passed away the morning of December 9, 2011 at Jameson Hospital.Born May 25, 1924 in New Castle, she was a daughter of Mitchiel John Weber and Nella Coe Weber. She married Charles B. Tirre on April 24, 1943. He preceded her in death on September 14, 1968. She subsequently married Albert D. Verzilli on June 30, 1984. He passed away December 27, 2002.She graduated from New Castle High School in June, 1942.She was employed by Liberty Mutual Insurance Company as a senior underwriter for 26 years, retiring in May, 1986.Mildred was a member of First Baptist Church where she attended the 3M Sunday school class and Sparklers.She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen L. Butts and her husband David L Butts, Sr., of Florida and Industry, PA, and Charlotte A. Tirre of Anderson, IN; three grandchildren, David L. Butts, Jr., Kelly L. (David) Kelley, and Ryan C. Tirre; five great-grandchildren, Chad Kelley, Casie Kelley, Melinda Butts, Michael Luther and Jereme Luther.In addition to her parents and both husbands, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents John and Regina Weber who raised her; maternal grandmother Mauna Coe Steers; stepmother Margaret Joyce Weber; a brother John Earl Weber; and two step-sisters, Norma Joyce Stull and Norene Joyce Peschell.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. John Yergan will officiate.
