Mina Lou Murphy, age 90, of Neshannock, passed away the morning of October 4, 2018, at her residence. Born on August 11, 1928, in New Castle, she was the daughter to the late Clyde J. Nicholson, Sr. and Florence (Ellis) Nicholson. She was married to William J. Murphy, Jr. He preceded her in death in 1990. Mrs. Murphy was a New Castle High School graduate. She worked as a clerk at Strouss-Hirshberg department store, then went on to work as a long distance operator at Bell Telephone Company. She was past president and a member of the Woman's Club; Red Hat Society. She was a life member of Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church where she was very active. Mina Lou had taught Sunday School, Bible School, and was a Youth Group Leader. She will always be remembered as a wonderful homemaker and mother. She is survived by one son; Robert W. Murphy of Volant, Pa., and one sister; Judith Bender of Neshannock, Pa. Along with her parents and husband, William, she was preceded in death by daughter; Lori Ann Murphy and brother; Clyde J. Nicholson, Jr. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 6th, from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church, 220 E. Clen-Moore Blvd., New Castle. A service will follow immediately, at 11:00 AM, with Steve Plyler officiating. Burial will be at Castleview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church, 220 E.
