Muriel Grossman, of New Castle, passed away the morning of Jan. 20, 2024, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Born Dec. 15, in Youngstown, OH, she was the daughter of the late Sylvan and Lena (Cohen) Samter.

On July 11, 1954, Muriel married her beloved husband, Wilbert E. Grossman. He preceded her in death Nov. 15, 2003.

Muriel was a graduate of New Castle School of Business. For several years, she worked as the administrative corporate secretary, for Castle Maintenance, until her retirement. She enjoyed all animals and spending time with her beloved dogs. What gave Muriel the most joy in life, however, was being a mother and grandmother.

Survivors include one son, Jeff (Lisa) Grossman of New Castle, PA; one daughter, Sharon Grossman of Fredrick, MD; and two grandchildren, Lena and Maria.

In addition to her parents and husband, Muriel is preceded in death by one brother, Rondald Samter.

A funeral service was held on Tues. Jan. 23rd, at 11:00 AM, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, with Rabbi Howie Stein officiating.

Burial was alongside her husband at Tifereth Israel Cemetery.
