Myrna Bristol Tinstman, 89, formerly of New Castle, PA, passed away at her residence in Daytona Beach, Florida, February 4, 2015. Born April 9, 1925 in New Brighton, PA, she was a daughter of Frank Leslie and Ethel Dunn Bristol. She was preceded in death on November 9, 1989 by her husband of 42 years, William M. Tinstman MD, whom she married June 20, 1947. A 1942 graduate of the New Brighton School District, she received her Bachelor's Degree from Geneva College in 1947. Myrna was an elementary school teacher for two years with the New Brighton School District, and with the Churchland School District in Virginia for two years. She was a member of LaSertoma International where she served as president of the Erie-Penna Chapter. She was also a member of Jameson Guild. An active member of First Presbyterian Church of New Castle, she previously served as a deacon, teacher, and member of various committees. She is survived by six sons, William Michael(Karen) Tinstman, Thomas Bristol (Sara) Tinstman and James Carlisle (Lois) Tinstman all of New Castle, Joel Stephen (Karen) Tinstman of Daytona Beach, FL, John Richard (Jennifer) Tinstman of Ormond Beach, FL, and David Paul (Cindy) Tinstman of Raleigh, NC; two daughters, Nancy Renee Stull of Pittsburgh, PA, and Elizabeth Anne Tinstman Brunish of New Castle; and 25 grandchildren, Michaelyn Notz, Eric Tinstman, Bradley Tinstman, Gretchen Sink, Meagan Billyk, Theodore Tinstman, Timothy Tinstman, Evan Tinstman, Margie Tinstman, Amy Allshouse, Ashley Tinstman, John Tinstman, Jr., Jeffrey Tinstman, Jessica Tinstman, Stephanie Shoaff, Michael Stull, Jordyn Tinstman, Carly Tinstman, Jared Tinstman, Cassandra Marburger, Christian Marburger, Matthew Marburger, Lisa Marburger, Shaun Barazda and Shannon Clark; and 27 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Leslie Bristol, Robert B. Bristol, and Glenn W. Bristol. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church and will be officated by Rev. Nathan Loudon. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
