Nancy M. Cearfoss, age 75, of State Road, New Castle, passed away the night of June 28, 2015 at Jameson Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Born July 18, 1939 in Williamsport, Pa., she was a daughter of George E. and Anna Mae Schmouder Kilmer. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, John "Jack" Cearfoss, whom she married December 13, 1957. Nancy was formerly employed with Airway Industries, and was a self-employed seamstress for many years. In her spare time Nancy liked reading and sewing, and enjoyed the outdoors. She was a member of St. Vitus Church. In addition to her husband Jack, she is survived by two sons, Daniel E. Cearfoss and David A. Cearfoss, both of New Castle; her father George of Volant; three brothers, Earl "Butch" (Cathy) Kilmer and Roy Emery Kilmer of New Wilmington, and Claude Kilmer of Florida; one sister, Karen A. (David) McCord of St. Augustine, Fla.; 6 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and one brother, Larry Kilmer. At Nancy's request, there will be no calling hours. A private burial will be held by the family at Castle View Cemetery at their convenience. Arrangements have been entrusted to the R.
