Obituary

Nancy A. Shingledecker, 70, of 91 Fairground Road, passed away the evening of October 5, 2011 at her residence.Born October 21, 1940 in New Castle, she was a daughter of Lawrence and Adaline McFarland Twentier.She married John Shingledecker on September 2, 1961.She was a 1958 graduate of Slippery Rock High School and worked as an administrative secretary for McCann's Sanitary.An avid horse enthusiast, she was also a champion pleasure rider in her youth. Additionally, she was a former 4H Leader, Longaberger Basket Consultant, involved with Operation Lifeline and enjoyed Civil War Reenactments.Nancy was a member of Neshannock Presbyterian Church where she was actively involved in many of the church programs, dinners and events.In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Brenda and Jeff Lubich, Debra Shingledecker and Jodi and Michael Baker, all of New Castle; one son, Captain Kurtis J. Shingledecker of New Castle; one brother, Raymond Twentier of Phoenix, AZ; and three grandchildren, Amanda Lubich, Kellee Lubich and Jacquelynne Baker.She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Erma Wolfe.Visitation will be held on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at 12:30 p.m. at Neshannock Presbyterian Church, 154 Fairground Road. The Rev. Gary Waguespack will officiate. Burial will be in Neshannock Presbyterian Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to Neshannock Presbyterian Church, 154 Fairground Road, New Castle, PA 16101 or Operation Lifeline, c/o Christ Lutheran Church, 1302 E.
