Nancy D. Shoop, age 86 of New Castle, PA, passed away he afternoon of May 12, 2022, at UPMC Jameson Care Center. Born Jan. 9, 1936, in Ellwood City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Beulah Mae (Hertzog) Danbach. Nancy was married to her beloved husband, Alfred E. Shoop. He preceded her in death on Nov. 14, 2014. Mrs. Shoop earned her associate degree from Jameson School of Nursing. She became a registered nurse, working until her retirement, at Jameson Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed quilting. What gave Nancy the most joy in life, was the time that she was able to spend with her family. She attended Evangel Community Church. Survivors include her two sons, Robert W. Shoop of Grove City, PA, and David A. (Susan) Shoop of New Castle, PA; one sister, Patricia White of Ellwood City, PA; six grandchildren, Tony, Andrew, Sarah, Jessica, Nathan, and Samantha; and three great grandchildren, Gavin, Jordan and Delilah. Visitation will be held on Monday May 16th from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., 2429 Wilmington Rd., New Castle. A service will take place immediately following visitation at 4:00 PM, with Rev. Harry Edenhofer officiating. Burial will be at Oak Park Cemetery, alongside her husband.
