Nancy Lee Stoner, 79, formerly of Union Township, passed away the morning of July 3, 2019 at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born July 30, 1939 in New Castle, she was the daughter of Fulton Cook and Lena Parshall. She was preceded in death on April 26, 2014 by her beloved husband of 55 years, John C. Stoner, Sr. whom she married July 11, 1958. Nancy was a 1957 graduate of Union High School and was employed with Riverside Apartments as a secretary for 35 years until her retirement at 65. She was a member of the Union Township Ladies Auxiliary, past president of the Union PTO and member of Eastern Star. She was an active member of Northminster Presbyterian Church. Most important to Nancy was time spent with her family and grandchildren. She is survived by one daughter, Melissa (Richard) Hamilton of New Castle; one son, John C. (Connie) Stoner, Jr. of Reading, PA; her step-mother, Eleanor Cook of Maryland; three brothers, Dennis (Jeanie) Cook and Shaun (Sue) Cook all of Maryland and Gilbert Parshall of New Castle; five sisters, Marlene Elmore of Texas, Bridget (Tom) Kane of Virginia, Molley (Andrew) Casazza of Maryland, Cecilia (Robert) Cook-Christmas of Oregon and Marla Jo (Rick) Colbert of Beaver, PA; five grandchildren, Matthew Hamilton, Andrew (Sue) Hamilton, Ashley (Matt) Wetzel, Nicholas Stoner and Jennifer Hamilton; and three great-grandchildren, Grant Hamilton, Jack Hamilton and Grayson Wetzel. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Kathleen Cook. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
