Nancy M. Stunkard, age 84, of New Castle, passed away on February 13, 2019, at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born August 17, 1934 in New Castle, PA, she was the daughter of Ira D. and Bertha (Travis) Walters. Nancy was preceded in death on October 17, 2016 by her husband of 63 years, James R. Stunkard, whom she married January 19, 1953. She was employed several years as a clerk with K-Mart and Ralphs Supermarket and was a member of Calvary Independent Church. Among her many interests she enjoyed bowling, crafts and gardening. Nancy loved the time spent with her family and took pride in helping to raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nancy is survived by two daughters, Jamie Lucille (David) Hoon of Missouri City, Texas and Kathy Jean (Jeff) Foreman of New Castle, Pa.; grandchildren, Chad (Tami) Weingartner, Andy Weingartner, Brandy Weingartner, Jon Hoon and Blaine Hoon; and three great-grandchildren,Tylor Weingartner, Emily Weingartner and Nicole Weingartner. Along with her parents and husband, Nancy was preceded in death by her daughter Betsy Ann Cooper. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 21, from 2:00 - 6:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A service will immediately follow visitation at 6:00 PM with the Rev. John Yergan officiating.
