Obituary

Nancy Bintliff Whisler, 81, of Poland, OH, formerly of Edinburg and Petrolia, Pa, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ while surrounded by family on Monday, July 7, 2025.

Nancy is survived by her daughter Beverly Lankitus (Dan), son David Whisler (Lorri), grandchildren Sarah Amstutz (Zach), Jed Lankitus (Meryem), David Lankitus (Abbie), Luke Lankitus, Kelsey Whisler, Abigail Whisler and great granddaughter Hannah Amstutz.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Ken, her parents Mitch & Ruth Bintliff and her sisters Ruth Whinfrey (David), Joan Value (Bob) and Judith Page (Bill).

Nancy Bintliff married Ken Whisler on March 21,1964 and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary together last year. Ken and Nancy loved serving the Lord as members of First Baptist Church in New Castle, Pa and previously as members at St. Peter's Reformed Church in Fairview, Pa. Together Ken and Nancy led mission trips to Bolivia every summer for 17 years only stopping after their health prevented foreign travel. Nancy worked as a Victim / Witness Advocate in Butler PA and representative for "Mothers Against Drunk Driving" (MADD). She was recognized as an Eckerd 100 honoree awarded to women who make a difference in their community.

Nancy was a kind & loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her ways echoed her life verse, Hebrews 12:1-3, "Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross". Nancy maintained a kind spirit, contentment and grace throughout a 7-year battle with dementia. She will be remembered for her strength, bright eyes and beautiful smile. We miss both Nancy and Ken very much and will be celebrating their lives on October 12, 2025 in Colorado.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all those who have shown their love and support during this journey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude Hospital in Memphis, TN, in memory of Corey Summerville.

Arrangements by the R. Cunningham Funeral Home of New Castle where online condolences may be offered to the family at www.cunninghamfh.com.
