Neil R. Swisher, 84, of New Wilmington, passed away the morning of May 9, 2014 at Sharon Regional Health System.Born February 22, 1930 in New Castle, he was the son of Carl J. and Elizabeth L. Lusk Swisher.A graduate of Sandy Lake High School, Neil served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.He retired from Sharon Steel/LTV Steel.Neil enjoyed gardening, taking care of lawns, and hunting.Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Charlene and William White of Volant, and Michele and Donald Bolinger of New Wilmington; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard Swisher of Stoneboro, PA, and Brian and Paula Swisher of New Castle; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Edward Kaminski of Brighton, MI; 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.In addition to his parents, Neil was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Martin; and a great granddaughter, Bailey Chanze.In keeping with Neil's wishes, there will be no public visitation or service. The family will have a private gathering.Arrangements are by the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
