Nikolas D. Rasey, age 30, passed away unexpectedly the afternoon of June 11, 2021, at the place he loved most, McKelvey Lake. Born Jan. 4, 1991, in New Castle, he was the son of Jenny Jolene Rasey and Gerald Black. Nikolas was a graduate of New Wilmington High School and YSU where he studied Criminal Justice. He was a member of the Army National Guard, Battery A 1-107 Field Auxiliary, where he was a distinguished honor graduate. He worked as an industrial carpenter and was employed by the Local 420 where he was a member of the carpenter union. Nikolas had several hobbies and interests. He loved sports, fishing, hunting, dirt bikes and ATVs, boating, construction, playing the violin, and detailing his truck and Harley motorcycle. Most of all, he loved his family, especially the time he spent with his sons. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving partner, Jewellea Wyne of Youngstown OH; father, Rick Jenkins of Salem, West Virginia; special grandmother, Jeannette Rasey of New Bedford, PA; two sons, Jaxson Nikolas and Jayden Nikolas Rasey both of Youngstown, OH; stepsister, Miranda Barnes of Shenango Twp; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He also leaves behind his dogs, CoCo and Delilah. Nikolas was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles K. Rasey and stepbrother, Matthew Colich. The family would like to give a special thanks to the friends who spent many hours searching for Nikolas at McKelvey Lake. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 21st from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A service will take place at 6:00 PM with Chaplin Bill Beck officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ensure a bright future for his children, Jaxson Nikolas and Jayden Nikolas.
