Norris Ahmed, 83, formerly of Pulaski Road, New Castle, passed away March 19, 2014 in Buckeye, Arizona.Born November 18, 1930 in Arnold, PA, he was a son of Mohamed and Budrea Etry Ahmed.Surviving at home is his wife of 56 years, Delores M. Ball Ahmed, whom he married May 4, 1957.Norris received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Youngstown State University and served as a Sergeant in the Korean War from 1949-1952.Following his retirement in 1999 as a mechanical machine designer at East Ohio Machinery, he was a school bus driver for 9 years with First Student.Norris was active in Neshannock Township as a member of the volunteer fire department and president of the boosters. He served as committee chairman of the Boy Scout Troop 423 and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #433. He was formerly the secretary of the Flying Club at the New Castle Airport. Because of his enjoyment of swimming, he was a member of the New Castle YMCA Swim Team.In addition to his wife ""Dee"", he is survived by three daughters, Noreen Smith & her husband Mark of Greenville, PA, Nadine Panzica & her husband Anthony of Buckeye, AZ, and Dina Ahmed of Buckeye, AZ; one son, Norris Ahmed and his wife Dottie of Rising Sun, MD; one sister, Gladys Thomas of Boardman, OH; and seven grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents and his maternal grandparents, Fotme and Kosem Etry.In keeping with Mr. Ahmed's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.Arrangements are by the R.
