Otto Oswald Ritter, age 87, of New Middletown, OH, formerly of New Castle, PA, passed away the early morning of May 19, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital.

Born March 3, 1938, in New Castle, PA, he was the son of the late Florentin and Agnes (Margel) Ritter.

On Oct. 12, 1957, he married his beloved wife of 67 years, Joyce A. (Thompson) Ritter, who survives at home.

Otto was a 1956 graduate of New Castle High School. He went on to attend the former Youngstown College. For 37 years, he worked in maintenance, employed by Villa Maria, until his retirement. Among some of his various interests and hobbies, Otto loved to hunt, fish, and go camping with his family and friends. He was a member of the New Bedford Sportsman's Club and St. Camilus Church, where he sang in the choir.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Jeffery (Maryjo) Ritter of New Castle, PA; two daughters, Joye (Frank) Porter of Poland, OH, and Karen Trimble (Ryan) of New Castle, PA; six grandchildren, Ashley Ahern, T.J. Ritter, Frank Porter IV, Katie Porter, Anna Orlando and Brittany Orlando; and six great grandchildren.

Along with his parents Otto was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael Ritter, and Joseph Ritter, one sister, Catherine Caughey and grandson Michael Porter.

Visitation will be held on Sat. May 24th, from 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A Blessing Service will immediately follow visitation at 11:30 AM.
