Pastor Jason R. McIlwain, age 39, of Volant, Pa., went home to be with his Lord after a long battle with cancer, the afternoon of September 4, 2016 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born July 1, 1977 in Greenville, Pa, he was the son of Terry L. and Charlotte Miller McIlwain of Volant, Pa. After graduating from Grove City High School in 1996 he attended Pittsburgh Technical Institute, where he graduated in 1998. He used his degree to be a self-employed graphic designer. Jason later took classes at Liberty University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Pastoral/Religion on September 2, 2016. He was employed as a Sales Service Rep with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. Among his many interests, Jason enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and the Pittsburgh sports teams, but he cherished most the times he spent with his sons Josiah and Jeremiah. Jason was known to everyone who knew him as being a faithful follower of the Lord. His passion was sharing the Lord with others, even while facing many difficulties.
